What do you like most about being an SVRF member? Sharing Star Wars and other sci fi interests with other Star Wars/sci fi fans and knowing that I'm not the Last Star Wars Nerd On Earth. LOL

FAVORITES

Favorite Episode: IV and V because they both grew out of the '70s (my favourite decade)and IV in particular that it started the whole Star Wars craze and myth (as in legend).

Favorite Star Wars Scene: I really don't have one, but if I had to pick, it would be ones from the first and second movies where Han and Leia are bickering and having their power struggles with each other; these scenes crack me up big time.

Favorite Hero: Luke Skywalker, because he's the teenager/coming of age hero and yet he lives/learns by the mystical philosophy of the Force; I consider my self an everlasting teen (at least at heart) and spiritual.

Favorite Villain: Darth Vader, because he is figuratively the dark (evil) counter part to Luke, who Luke must struggle with in order to maintain his heroic qualities; each of us goes through such struggles.

Favorite Bounty Hunter: Greedo because I like the classic reptilian humanoid monster and he's very menacing and scary the way he threatens Han; creeeepy!

Favorite Droid: C-3PO and R-2 D-2 because their funny together, but 3PO's the funniest.

Favorite Aliens: Most of the Mos Eisley Cantina aliens, especially the more inhuman looking ones (e.g. Hammer Head, Greedo) because they resemble classic and Japanese sci fi monsters (only much smaller of course if you're thinking Godzilla's foes!).

What's your stance on the Extended Universe? I really haven't kept up with it; I'm "vintage" Star Wars (origional trilogy) and prequels after that, but I plan to read some Extended Universe (mostly comic series) some day.

Is Jar Jar Binks really that bad? No. At least not in my opinion; I feel his annoyance is more popular jokative hyperbole really, yet he is pretty annoying and so one of my least favourite of characters.

How many times have you bought the original trilogy on video? Once. I was cool with renting them any time I wanted to see them, since you can rent them at just about any video rental store. But then when Hollywood Video offered the VHS for a really low price, when DVD took VHS's place, I bought them to add to my overall Star Wars Collection.
